Hair and makeup

Portland Fashion Week is looking for more artists to work any of the days from Oct 2-6.  Sounds fun and you get fed and can watch the show when you are done. Please contact Rachael directly if you are interested.

My name is Rachael and I am reaching out on behalf of Portland Fashion Week. We’re looking for a few last minute makeup artists to volunteer backstage during our shows, October 2-6, 2019, at The Old Church Concert Hall.

To give you some background on us:

  • Serving as an incubator for models, creatives and fashion industry professionals alike since 2002
  • We’ve had more Project Runway alum show at Portland Fashion week than LA and NY combined
  • Since 2015 we have been named a key influencer changing the face of fashion by the CFDA for our non-predatory business model, eco-chic ethos, slow fashion trends and our support of the local and fashion communities at large
  • Named the “Best Indie Fashion Week” in the US by Time Magazine and the “World’s Only Carbon Negative Fashion Week” by Huffington Post

Portland Fashion Week is committed to developing a fun and productive work culture that is conducive to positive results! As a Hair and Makeup Artist Volunteer you will have a variety of responsibilities throughout the evening. Our Brand team is looking for bright and innovative volunteers to create hair and makeup styles that align with designers vision for the runway.

We would need artists at the venue by 2:30pm daily to setup their stations – makeup products will be provided. Models will start arriving by 3pm. Makeup should conclude by 5:30-6pm. At that time the volunteers are free to roam the venue, take advantage of the dinner menu options provided by local restaurants, find a seat for the shows that start at 8:00pm and make their way to The Canopy for our after parties at 9:00pm.

Please let me know if this is of interest to you or your students.
