Tracktown Movie LLC is currently in search of a production crew for its upcoming project, TRACKTOWN. Seeking to capture the unique character of Eugene, OR, lovingly nicknamed “Tracktown, USA,” the film will follow star runner Plumb Marigold, who, in the midst of her first Olympic Trials, rebels against the demanding athletic life she’s always known to pursue a brief taste of the world outside the circle of a track.
TRACKTOWN is directed and co-written by Jeremy Teicher, an award-winning writer and director, whose first narrative feature film, TALL AS THE BAOBAB TREE, was commercially released by Sundance Artist Services in January 2014. Tall as the Baobab Tree is inspired by true stories from Jeremy’s documentary THIS IS US, nominated for a 2011 Student Academy Award. TRACKTOWN’s co-writer and lead actress is Alexi Pappas, an actress and athlete who (at age 24) is one of America’s top long-distance runners and a 2016 Olympic contender. Alexi’s real experiences as an athlete on the Nike Oregon Track Club Elite team will inform the script, adding a unique twist to the coming-of-age genre. The producer, Laura Wagner, previously produced the critically acclaimed feature film, IT FELT LIKE LOVE, which premiered at Sundance in 2013 and opened in theaters in 2014. Her previous credits include the PBS documentary JOHN LEGUIZAMO: TALES FROM A GHETTO KLOWN and the IMAX film, PULSE: A STOMP ODYSSEY.
TRACKTOWN is being shot entirely on location in Eugene, OR. We are rolling right along in pre-production and are ready to start crewing up for the film shoot, scheduled for August 18 through September 18. It’s an ultra-low budget, non union film.
