COSPLAY! Makeup, Wig Styling & Costume Fabrication
Open to all ages! – Space is limited
Create a character and learn how to fabricate a costume, create armor, head pieces, and props, style and paint wigs, and do makeup all on a small budget! Get creative learning to use new types of tools, piecing together unfamiliar materials to mold, paint, and create any type of object and costume you can dream up! Use makeup in untraditional ways to embellish your costume, wig, face and body.
Learn how to shop for used fabric and accessories, salvage, recycle, and refurbish the good parts. Learn what to buy at craft stores. The skills you will learn in this class will be useful for a lifetime in all kinds of surprising ways. This is the class to let your imagination run wild!
Day 1: Build your Concept, learn the basics, and go on a group shopping trip!
Day 2: Wig cutting, coloring and styling. Makeup uses for Cosplay demonstration.
Day 3 & 4: Costume and prop fabrication
Day 5: Finalize character, costume, and props with makeup and wig application and photoshoot.
Supply Materials: $75*
Total Class Cost: $500
What to Bring: Makeup (colorful eyeshadows, blush & lipstick) & Makeup Brushes, Comb & Hair Brush (for wig) and a personal shopping budget for additional accessories and fabric: approx. $50 (Day 1 shopping excursion).
* Includes shared in class supplies, costume and prop fabrication kit to take home, costume and props made in class.

About the instructor:
Kaylee Venneman is from New York, but lives in CA where she works as the lead prop designer for California State Escape room and Assistant Prop Master at the Sacramento Theatre Company where she is currently working on Man of La Mancha. She specializes in making just about anything using limited supplies on a small budget. Kaylee completed The Art of Makeup Master Class in 2016. She has been an active Cosplayer for 6 years.
