Born in Los Angeles and raised in Ojai, Celena became involved in makeup artistry at a very early age. At the age of nine, she received her first makeup kit consisting of everything from beauty makeup to prosthetics & special effects.
In high school she studied theatre at Hollywood High Performing Arts Magnet. This is where she first received professional theatre makeup training, and practiced on the students for many shows at Hollywood High. She continued her theatre education at CA. State University Northridge, where she further received advanced makeup courses in theatre and film. At the age of eighteen, she keyed her first professional independent film.
In 1997, she furthered her education with Emmy award winning makeup artist David Dittmar, and soon began working regularly for Good Morning America, 20/20, and many other national ABC News shows. She was appointed resident makeup artist for Good Morning America at the 2000 National Democratic Convention where she did makeup for past presidents and other high profile politicians.
Celena has done makeup for everything from editorial and ads for major magazines, to fashion shows, commercials, music videos, television, and film. She has implemented her skills as an online beauty expert as well as a guest teacher at the highly regarded international Cinema Makeup School. Being a makeup artist has brought Celena across the globe and back, and has enriched her life with the many amazing experiences and people she has had the great fortune to meet.
